Everything we do is guided by our core values of honesty, integrity, reliability, industry leadership, and delivering the highest quality work. We strive to achieve the best possible, safest solutions for all our clients while actively advancing the field of adventure and experiential education.
ESI currently employs 65 dedicated professionals spread across 21 states, with our national headquarters centrally located in Dyer, Indiana. We are fully licensed and actively work all across North America. We also regularly execute major international projects in locations such as the USVI, Puerto Rico, Canada, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
We manage the entire lifecycle of adventure facilities. Our core services include design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation. For existing facilities, we perform structural inspections, maintenance, retrofits, program reviews, and staff training and certification. As a comprehensive service provider, we execute these services for courses built by ESI as well as those constructed by any of our competitors.
ESI is the first and only North American challenge course company to achieve ISO 9001:2015 certification for both manufacturing and services. This globally recognized standard means our entire business model is governed by a highly formalized, process-driven quality management system. To maintain this elite credential, our operations are strictly audited annually by an independent third party, ensuring we consistently deliver verifiable quality and liability protection to our clients.
Our staff represents a massive cross-section of the experiential education and adventure industries. Beyond structural and construction expertise, our team members hold diverse academic degrees and professional backgrounds in parks and recreation, behavioral counseling, education, and architectural design. This allows us to intimately understand the pedagogical goals behind your course, not just the structural engineering.
If there is a type of challenge course user group out there, someone on our staff has actively worked in it. Our team brings direct, hands-on operational experience from working with municipal park districts, public and private schools, commercial recreation providers, military recreation and tactical training, substance abuse recovery programs, adaptive and universal disability use centers, as well as vast experience across both the non-profit and for-profit sectors.
Safety and technical mastery are paramount on our job sites. Our operational and construction staff hold a rigorous array of specialized credentials, including being heavy machine operators, OSHA 10 certified, and certified riggers. Additionally, our program staff are highly credentialed certified facilitators, trainers, and certified challenge course managers.
Our leadership team doesn't just follow industry standards; we actively help shape them. ESI staff have served on Boards of Directors, standards management committees, ANSI consensus bodies, insurance advisory groups, program work groups, inspector certification panels, and operation accreditation committees. This includes extensive leadership, volunteering, and public comment participation across the industry's most critical organizations, including the ACCT, AEE, ACA, ASTM, PRCA, and CWA.
Yes. ESI maintains a highly specialized training and certification department that is formally accredited by the Association for Experiential Education (AEE).
