 A Smart Belay is an advanced, mechanical fall-protection lanyard used on ropes courses and aerial adventure parks. Unlike traditional lanyards, a Smart Belay utilizes interconnected technology that dictates how the carabiners function. The internal mechanism guarantees that if one carabiner is open and disconnected from the safety cable, the second carabiner physically locks shut.  On a traditional static belay course (using standard "lobster claw" lanyards), participants must manually unclip and re-clip their carabiners when transferring between elements. Climbers can choose their own rate of travel, select different routes, and safely pass slower climbers at transfer platforms.
